Dios Es Más Grande Que Todo

En primera de Juan 2:6 dice que debemos andar como él anduvo. Jesús dio su vida por mí para que yo pudiera ser libre de todo pecado. Así como Jesús dio su amor a los despreciados y yo quería hacer lo mismo. En enero de 2010 decidí ir a Panamá como una misionera y ahora estoy de regreso en los Estados Unidos. Cuando regresé a casa me di cuenta que yo no era la cristiana que Dios quería que yo fuera. Yo pensaba que estaba haciendo bien con sólo ir a la iglesia cada vez que había algún tipo de actividad y por ser la persona más agradable que podría ser, pero la luz que Jesús me dio no estaba brillando tan brillantemente como él quería que fuera. Casi nunca leía mi Biblia y cerré mis ojos a las cosas de este mundo, yo estaba bastante cómoda con las maneras del mundo.
Al ir a Panamá Dios me hizo ver que yo era una niña poco apreciada, tomada las cosas todo por sentado, especialmente la oración. Yo sabía que Dios escucharía mis oraciones, pero nunca esperaba que las contestara. Como creyentes, debemos orar a Dios, esperando que Dios haga algo mejor que lo que pedimos, porque Dios no tiene límites. También aprendí que la oración no es lo menos que podemos hacer, pero lo más grande que podemos hacer por los demás. Cuando estaba en la isla, Soledad Mandinga, mi equipo iba siempre a una choza donde había una mujer anciana que tenía muy poca fuerza en sus piernas y con sólo mirarla uno se daba cuenta de que tenía mucho dolor. Así que después de muchos días de orar por ella pudimos ver que su rostro brillaba porque ¡ya no había mas dolor y al final de la semana la vimos caminando perfectamente!
La gente que vive en la isla hacen ídolos de madera para la salud, el dinero y la prosperidad. Oran a los ídolos todo el tiempo. En los Estados Unidos no vemos esto, pero algunos de nosotros tenemos ídolos hechos de plástico, papel y metal.
Como yo sabía hablar español e Inglés, me ponían a traducir la mayor parte del tiempo. Cada vez que ibamos de choza en choza, por lo general yo era la última en la línea, pero cuando nos deteníamos en una choza me llamaban siempre al frente. Allí aprendí que cuando nos enfrentamos a una batalla debemos estar siempre en primera línea porque Jesús está allí también, y si estamos en la retagaurdia Satanás nos va a arrastrar hacia abajo y nos hace escondernos en las cosas en las cuales no deberíamos de estar.
En general aprendí que el amor de Dios es más grande que cualquier persona en este mundo. Él es la única persona que está dispuesta a perdonar mis pecados y Él nunca cambia (Hebreos 13:8). El mismo Dios que hizo milagros en tiempos de la Biblia todavía hace milagros hoy en día. Él es el único que puede traer amor, paz y gozo a nuestras vidas. A veces no entendemos el amor de Dios, porque nos aferramos y adoramos las cosas de este mundo. Dios es amor (1 Juan 4:8) y para comprender esto tenemos que leer 1 Corintios 13:4-7 una vez y despues, al volver a leerlo, reemplaza la palabra amor con Dios.
God Is Greater Than Anything

In first John 2:6 it says that we should walk as Jesus did. Jesus gave his life for me so that I could be free from any sin. Just as Jesus gave love to the unloved and just like him I wanted to do the same. In January 2010 I decided to go to Panama as a missionary and now I am back in the United States. When I came back home I realized that I was not the Christian that God wanted me to be. I thought I was doing fine by just going to church every time there was some kind of activity and by being the nicest person I could be, but the light that Jesus gave me was not shining as bright as He wanted it to be. I rarely read my bible and I closed my eyes to the things of this world, I was pretty much comfortable with the ways of the world.
Going to Panama God made me realize that I was an unappreciated child, I took everything for granted especially prayer. I knew God would listen to my prayers but I never expected him to answer. As a believer, one should pray to God expecting God to do something better than what we asked for because God has no limits. I also learned that prayer is not the least we can do but the greatest thing we can do for each other. When I was in the island, Soledad Mandinga, my team would always go to this hut where there was an elderly woman that had very little strength in her legs and just by looking at her one could see that was in pain. So after days of praying for her we could see that her face just shined because there wasn’t any pain and at the end of the week we saw her walking perfectly!
In the island, the people there make idols out of wood for health, money, and prosperity. They pray to those idols all the time. In the United States we don’t really see this but some of us have idols made out of plastic, paper, and metal.
Being a Spanish and English speaker I would translate most of the time. Whenever we went from hut to hut I was usually the last one in line but when we would stop at a hut I was always brought to the front. There I learned that whenever we’re facing a battle we should always be in the front lines because Jesus is there as well and if we stand in the back Satan is just going to drag us down and make us hide in the things we shouldn’t be in.
Overall I learned that the love of God is bigger than any person in this world. He is the only person that is willing to forgive me of my sins and He never changes (Hebrews 13:8). The same God that performed miracles during bible times still makes miracles today. He is the only one that can bring love, peace, and joy in our lives. Sometimes we don’t understand the love of God because we hang and worship the things in this world. God is love (1st John 4:8) and to understand that read 1st Corinthians 13:4-7 and first read it all the way and then when done read it again and replace the word love with God.
