Digno de Adoración.
“Entonces Tomás respondió y le dijo:
¡Señor mío, y Dios mío!”
Juan 20:28
Hoy celebramos uno de los acontecimientos que es un pilar de nuestra fe. ¡Hoy es el día de la Resurrección de nuestro Señor!
Es imposible exagerar la importancia de la Resurrección, es tan importante este hecho que el apóstol Pablo declaró: “Si Cristo no resucitó, vana es nuestra predicación y vana es vuestra fe” (1 Cor. 15:14).
La resurrección de Cristo fue un hecho relevante en la vida de los discípulos. Después de la muerte de Jesucristo, los discípulos estaban tristes y llorando (Mar. 16:10), habían perdido la esperanza de tal manera que no creyeron el anuncio de las mujeres de que le habían visto resucitado (Mar. 16:11). En el camino a Emaús los discípulos decepcionados dijeron “pero nosotros esperábamos que él era el que había de redimir a Israel; y ahora, además de todo esto, hoy es ya el tercer día que esto ha acontecido” (Luc. 24:21), siete de ellos volvieron a su antiguo oficio (Juan 21:1-14), mostrando que para ellos ya todo estaba perdido. Pero la resurrección de Jesucristo dio un cambio a sus vidas. El día de la crucifixión los discípulos estaban tristes; el día de la resurrección llenos de alegría. En la crucifixión estaban desesperanzados; en la resurrección sus corazones refulgían de seguridad y esperanza. Cuando el mensaje de la resurrección recién llegó a ellos, estaban incrédulos y duros para convencer, pero una vez que estuvieron seguros, jamás volvieron a dudar.
La Resurrección tiene el poder de cambiar. Por eso en Templo Bautista de South Houston creemos que Dios puede hacer nuevas todas las cosas. Dios es un Dios de segundas oportunidades. Con Jesucristo se puede empezar de nuevo. Dios puede unir relaciones rotas, levantar de la enfermedad, proveer para nuestras necesidades, cambiar algunas cosas de nuestro carácter que están torcidas y levantar un matrimonio de las cenizas.
También la Resurrección despierta la adoración. Tomás no creyó a sus compañeros cuando le dijeron que el Señor había resucitado. El dijo: “Si no lo veo, no lo creo”. Su corazón estaba incrédulo, sus esperanzas estaban perdidas, lo llenaba una profunda tristeza y decepción. Pero cuando se encontró con el Cristo vencedor de la muerte, cayó de rodillas en adoración y le dijo: “Tu eres mi Dios, y mi Señor”.
Dejémonos sorprender por el poder de la Resurrección. Emprendamos cosas en el nombre del Señor y veremos su poder obrando en medio de nosotros. También entremos en la intimidad con Dios a través de la adoración, y en esa intimidad dejemos que nuestras heridas sean sanadas, encontremos dirección para el camino, y dediquemos lo mejor de nuestras vidas a AQUEL QUE VENCIÓ LA MUERTE Y QUE ESTÁ A LA DIESTRA DEL PADRE INTERCEDIENDO POR NOSOTROS.

Worthy of Worship.
“Thomas answered and said to Him,
My Lord and my God!
John 20:28
Today we celebrate one of the events that is a cornerstone of our faith. Today is the Day of the Resurrection of our Lord!
It is impossible to overstate the importance of the Resurrection, this fact is so important that the apostle Paul declared: “and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain.” (1 Cor. 15:14).
The resurrection of Christ was a significant event in the life of the disciples. After the death of Jesus Christ, the disciples were sad and crying (Mark 16:10), had lost hope in such a way that they did not believe the announcement of the women that they had seen him risen (Mark 16:11). On the way to Emmaus the disappointed disciples said “But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened.” (Luke 24:21), seven of them returned to their old trade (John 21:1-14), showing that for them all was lost. But the resurrection of Jesus Christ made a change in their lives. The day of the crucifixion the disciples were sad; on the day of the resurrection full of joy. At the crucifixion they were hopeless; in the resurrection their hearts glowed of security and hope. When the message of the resurrection first came to them, they were incredulous and hard to convince, but once they were sure, they never doubted again.
The Resurrection has the power to change. This is why in Templo Bautista of South Houston we believe that God can make all things new. God is a God of second chances. With Jesus Christ you can start again. God can reunite broken relationships, lift us up from sickness, provide for our needs, change some things in our character that are bent and raise up a marriage from the ashes.
The Resurrection also arouses worship. Thomas did not believe his fellow disciples when they told him the Lord had risen. He said: “If I don’t see it, I don’t believe it.” His heart was incredulous, his hope was lost, he was filled him with a deep sadness and disappointment. But when he met the Christ, conqueror of death, he fell to his knees in worship and said to him: “You are my God and my Lord.”
Let us be surprised by the power of the Resurrection. Undertake things in the name of the Lord and we will see His power working in our midst. Let us also enter into intimacy with God through worship, and in that intimacy let us allow our wounds to be healed, let us find direction for our journey, and devote the best of our lives to HIM WHO CONQUERED DEATH AND IS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER INTERCEDING FOR US.
